This is an amazing device, with some caveats. While using in the car on a road trip recently, internet was spotty, so the glasses wouldn’t reliably work much of the time. Also, some unnecessary and distracting stuff constantly displays below the captions (Can it be deleted?), battery life is brief (yet recharging is also quick), captioning is too bright (but I understand adjustment capability will be forthcoming). That said, the captioning is impressively fast and accurate, with little lag time, and the mics pick up speech readily, even across a mid-size room. The glasses are a bit heavy and wear on the nose, but extra padding should help. All in all, I’m impressed with the technology and will keep the glasses, looking forward to the promised upgrades sooner rather than later. Congratulations on an invention that could be a real game-changer for people with hearing loss. I need to test them in movies to see if they work without access to the theater’s wi-fi (Will they? I couldn’t find a place on the app for using the glasses offline). That’s all I can think of at the moment. The priority for me is getting rid of the unnecessary stuff below the captions that is just as overly bright and never goes away. 😊
Only had them for a few days, but pretty far pretty good. I like being able to change the location and size of the catption and am really looking forward to speaker identification. Right now, when there are multiple people it can get kind of jumbled up. Also wishing for better connectivity to my phone--feel like I'm having to restart the app or the glasses a couple times each day.
That said, it's been amazing to participate in a few conversations already where I would have normally just stood silently and nodded through. Looking forward to the evolution of these glasses and their functionality!
My SO is 81 years old. His hearing is very bad. He has four sets of hearing aids that will not wear. The Captify glasses are perfect for him. We had an issue with the first pair. Isabella worked tirelessly with us for an hour and a half.
We had to send them back, at no expense, but they were promptly replaced within a week. We are both elderly and technically challenged, but are enjoying our newfound experience and looking forward to our upcoming cruise with delight. Thank you so much.
